Adopt Betty
Adopt Betty
Female Mini Poodle
4 year old, 8 pounds
Requires a securely fenced yard and another small dog in the home.
Betty is making progress in her foster home led by the other house mates. While she's still very timid, but is beginning to trust the humans that care for her. One of Betty’s favorite spots is on top of the couch, where she can keep an eye on everything happening around her. Betty is learning leash walking. She is looking for a calm, patient family that understands trust is built over time and that will allow her to grow at her own pace. She will continue to thrive in a home with another friendly, confident small dog who can help show her the ropes and reassure her that the world isn't so scary. A securely fenced yard is required, as she may still run if startled while she's building confidence. Because busy environments can be overwhelming, she would do best in a home without young children.

Adopt Buddy

Adopt Buddy
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Male
12 months old
17 pounds
MUST Read Bio Carefully
Buddy is a Blenheim prince and the hap hap happiest guy you will ever meet! Buddy came to rescue as an 8 month old pup who was having regurgitation and was diagnosed with delayed gastric emptying and then IBD felt to be the cause of his delayed gastric emptying. He is currently on a prescription special diet that includes a mix of kibble and canned food which he will need to maintain for life along with probiotic (total cost ~$200-300/month). Through it all, Buddy has been a happy, bouncy, playful, sweet, cuddly bestest boy! He goes from energetic puppy to sweet lap boy in a second! He is in a house of smaller foster sisters and he thinks he is their size 😍 (just like Buddy the Elf!), trying to play and cuddle with them. He looks at you with his big eyes and tilted head and you melt ❤️.
He currently does well when he is fed the mix of wet and dry specialized food in an elevated bowl and his water is portioned, but does still have water regurgitation with lots of water consumption or crazy play. He is slowing gaining back weight. He is working on house training which is best when taken out on a regular basis. He is doing well with walking on a leash. Sleeps well through the night. Buddy will require an adopter committed to maintaining his specialized diet and any necessary vet care and okay with cleaning up some occasional water regurgitation. He would do best in a home that has the time to give him dedicated play time and attention. Would do well with another dog but not required, he does great either way. Buddy really is the bestest boy and will make his perfect family so lucky 🍀😍. Buddy is being fostered in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Adopt Nancy
Adopt Nancy
Female Mini Poodle
1 year old, 10 pounds
Dog and cat friendly
Requires a securely fenced yard and another small dog in the home
Nancy is a 1-year-old Mini Poodle who has made tremendous progress in foster care. While she's still a timid girl, she's beginning to let her sweet personality shine through more each day. She has discovered that people can be safe, and she's learning to enjoy the little moments that come with being loved.
One of Nancy's favorite places is perched on the top of the couch, where she can keep an eye on everything happening around her. Once she's comfortable, she'll gently lean over to give little kisses on your hand. Nancy has also found her voice and is surprisingly chatty! She isn't afraid to let you know when she has something to say, adding plenty of personality to her quiet charm.
Nancy is looking for a calm, patient family that understands trust is built over time. A securely fenced yard is required, as she may still run if startled while she's building confidence. Nancy may never be the dog who rushes up to greet every stranger, but for the family willing to let her move at her own pace, she'll reward you with the sweetest hand kisses, adorable conversations, and the joy of watching a once-frightened little girl discover what it means to feel safe and loved.
She can be adopted with her sister Mary Mae or by herself

Mia is loyal and patient (just not when it comes to snacks). She is still learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard is desired. She is doing great with house training and has very few accidents. Adopt Mildred
Must read ENTIRE BIO
Adopt Mildred- PLEASE READ WHOLE BIO before applying. There will be two interviews for Mildred. One to discuss her medical needs and one with her foster to learn about her!
🐾 Heart puppy - see information below
🐾 4 month old female English cream retriever
🐾 25lbs and growing
🐾 Fence not required
🐾 Great with kids and other dogs
🐾 Untested with cats
🐾 Would love a doggy sibling or at least frequent opportunities to play with other fully vaccinated dogs
Mildred, Millie, Millie-Moo, Moo-Moo, or Fluff Nugget! Mildred is the happiest puppy and unless you knew about her heart, you wouldn’t really know. She has your typical puppy energy and loves to play fetch, jump on her foster siblings, chew on sticks, and explore the yard! Her favorite nighttime activity is chasing and catching lightning bugs and June bugs. She is fostered in a home with 3 big dogs and she loves them all.
Mildred has a grade 3 heart murmur caused by mitral valve regurgitation (likely caused by underlying mitral valve dysplasia). Basically this means that the “flap” of her mitral valve was malformed at birth which allows some blood to back up into the left atrium (one of the four chambers of her heart). At this time, Mildred does not have any of the symptoms associated with this heart malformation, such as coughing, labored breathing, exercise intolerance, weakness with activity or poor appetite. However, it is there and should not be ignored! There is a slight chance she will grow out of it and her heart will function normally.
A repeat ECHO should be planned for when she is 6 months old to check the progress. There is also a chance that she may develop congestive heart failure due to changes to the heart structure over time caused by the backflow of blood into the left atrium. We have no way of knowing at this point what her future will look like but for now she is happy and playful and ready to steal your heart, and your socks! Many times these type of cases can live a long life and in some cases they are cut a few years short, it is not a surgical correction for this at this time.
Medication could be needed down the road if the condition causes enlargement or if she becomes symptomatic.
Mildred is not yet spayed due to her heart malformation and the risks of anesthesia. She will
Not be spayed prior to adoption and we suggest you strongly consider the risks and benefits when making that decision. For that reason we are searching for a responsible pet owner able to financially provide care for her.
Echos costs around $900 and medication when she needs it could be $50-100 a month.
If you are interested in giving her a loving home despite her uncertain future, please submit your application and the $20

Adopt Mary Mae
Adopt MaryMae
Female mini poodle
1 year old, 10 pounds
Other dog and cat friendly
Needs fence and another dog in home
Could be adopted with her sister Nancy but not required
MaryMae, our little Southern Belle, is as sweet as sugar and cute as can be. She is a 1-year-old Mini Poodle with a gentle heart who has made incredible progress since coming into foster care. While she's still a little timid in new situations, every day she becomes more confident and affectionate.
Once MaryMae trusts you, she is happiest right by your side. She loves curling up on the couch with her foster mom, follows her from room to room, and simply wants to be wherever her person is. Watching her personality emerge has been one of the greatest joys of fostering her.
MaryMae is looking for a calm, patient family that will continue helping her build confidence. She would thrive in a home with another friendly, small dog to show her the ropes and reassure her that the world isn't so scary. A secure fenced yard is required, as she may still run if startled while she's gaining confidence. Because loud or busy homes can be overwhelming, she would do best in a home without young children. She has not yet learned to walk confidently on a leash, so her new family should be prepared to continue working with her at her own pace.
MaryMae may not be the dog who runs up to greet every stranger, but once you've earned her trust, you'll have a loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to spend her days by your side. If you're looking for a gentle companion and are willing to let love grow at her pace, MaryMae will reward you with a bond that is truly special.
