Adopt Buddy
Adopt Buddy
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Male
13 months old
17 pounds
MUST Read Bio Carefully
Buddy is a Blenheim prince and the hap hap happiest guy you will ever meet! Buddy came to rescue as an 8 month old pup who was having regurgitation and was diagnosed with delayed gastric emptying and IBD. He is currently on a prescription special diet that includes a mix of kibble and canned food which he will need to maintain for life along with probiotic (total cost ~$200-300/month). Through it all, Buddy has been a happy, bouncy, playful, sweet, cuddly bestest boy! He goes from energetic puppy to sweet lap boy in a second! He is in a house of smaller foster sisters and he thinks he is their size 😍 (just like Buddy the Elf!). He looks at you with his big eyes and tilted head and you melt ❤️.
He does well when he is fed the mix of wet and dry food in an elevated bowl and his water is portioned, but does still have water regurgitation with lots of water consumption or crazy play. He is working on house training which is best when taken out on a regular basis. He walks well on a leash. Buddy will require an adopter committed to maintaining his specialized diet and any necessary vet care and okay with cleaning up some occasional water regurgitation. He would do best in a home that has the time to give him dedicated play time and attention. Would do well with another dog but not required, does great with cats. Buddy really is the bestest boy and will make his perfect family so lucky 🍀😍. Buddy is being fostered in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Adopt Bennie
Adopt Bennie! 🩷
Age: 3 years
Breed: Havanese
Sex: female
Fenced in yard required
Bennie is an adorable 10-pound sweetheart with the most soulful eyes. She has made wonderful progress and continues to grow more confident every day.
Bennie is still a shy, timid little girl who can be nervous in new situations, so she’ll need a patient family willing to let her adjust at her own pace. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and doing great with potty training.
She walks nicely on a leash, gets along well with other dogs, and would do best in a home with a confident canine companion. A securely fenced yard is preferred to help her safely continue building confidence.
Bennie loves soft beds, quiet cuddle time, and simply being near her people once she feels safe. If you’re willing to give this special little girl the time she needs, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, loving companion who will blossom right before your eyes. ❤️

Adopt Punky
Adopt Punky
Age: 3–4 years
Breed: Havanese
Sex: Female
Weight: 8 pounds
Fence Required: No, but double leash for two weeks
Another dog preferred
Location: Dublin, Ohio
Punky is a pint-sized retired breeding mama with a big personality and friendly disposition. When she first arrived, she was timid and skeptical of people, but in a short time she has made huge strides. Now her tail is always wagging but she's still learning to trust. She'll summon her human to the room but then likes to play hard to get. She has the cutest little hand gestures when she’s really excited, and at baseline she always looks like she’s smiling yet judging you😁. She’s a happy girl and her tail is always wagging. She enjoys attention, relaxes when being held, and likes head scratches. This happy, spunky little girl has recently found her voice as her new favorite activity is to sit in her window bed and greet all the neighbors while mom is at work. Otherwise she’s a quiet companion when her person is home.
Punky is a confident one, happily showing her foster sister the ropes while continuing to build trust with people every day. Potty training and leash walking are works in progress. She’s low energy but prefers to be held on walks. She does get motion sickness in the car. She’d likely enjoy another friendly dog as her tail wags whenever we pass dogs on walks, but she may also do well as an only pup if her people are present much of the day. She’s a cutie patootie who will add so much happiness to the lives of those lucky enough to adopt her!

Adopt Pippi
Adopt Pippi
Age: 3–4 years old
Weight: 13lbs
Breed: Havanese
Sex: Female
Fence Required: Preferred. Double leash system for the first 2 weeks.
Another friendly dog required.
Pippi is a sweet, gentle 3–4-year-old, 13-lb retired breeding Havanese whose big brown eyes tell her story and melt your heart. She is discovering how wonderful life can be now that she's found freedom. When she first arrived, she was very scared. She refused to make eye contact, kept her tail tucked, and stayed in the back of the crate, while relying heavily on her sister for confidence. In just a short time, she’s made incredible progress. Her whole body wags with excitement when her foster mom wakes up or comes home but she doesn't yet trust enough to approach her. She doesn’t mind being held for short periods and will poke her lil nose at your hand to remind you to keep up with the head scratches.
She loves stroller rides, does well on a leash especially when her foster sister is nearby, and she could spend hours watching the world quietly from the window. Every day she becomes a little braver, and when she thinks no one is watching, you’ll catch adorable little zoomies as her playful side begins to shine.
She’s has a strong appetite and is making steady progress with potty training, coming when called, and learning that human touch can be comforting. Pippi rarely ever barks. She’s a shy and loving little girl who simply needs a patient family to help her continue building trust as she learns to love and be loved. She will likely do best with another furry sibling to help her confidence. She can be easily startled so would probably do best with older kids who respect her space (but she doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body!). She doesn’t show much interest in other dogs accept her foster sister but would likely adapt once she feels safe. She’s low energy and could fit into several lifestyles. She will be an amazing companion for any patient family willing to let her bloom at her own pace.

Adopt Bubbles
dopt Bubbles
Age: 5-1/2 years old
Weight: 14 lbs
Breed: Bichon Frise
Gender: Female
Fence optional
Location: Columbus/Powell Ohio
Bubbles is a 5-1/2 years old Bichon Frise. She is playful and energetic. She is a loyal companion who follows you around wherever you go. She likes to take her laps, but prefers to be right by you when she does. She is a fluffy cotton ball who loves to cuddle up in your lap. She does have moderate separation anxiety, so it is preferred to have someone home most of the time or have her join in for the ride.
Bubbles gravitates more towards women, due to her nature. She is fine with kids and calmer dogs. Should be cautious to have her around younger and more active dogs at this point as she is still adjusting to people/pet around her and she might get spooked. She is not cat tested yet.
Bubbles is good at walking with leash on, fence not required but walks are recommended. She is making great progress on house training, crates training still require some more work and a lot of patience as she is still slowly easing away her separation anxiety. So it is preferred to keep her company as much as possible for the first few days. As she settles into her new home, she may initially seek extra comfort and reassurance by being your shadow. With patience and consistency, she will gain confidence and become more independent over time.

Roxy is a very laid back quiet dog. She loves being outside especially if it’s cool out, like most huskies do. She uses a doggy door to go potty on her own. She is Lyme positive. She is definitely timid and is slow to warm up but walks on a leash well to come sit in the couch with you. She would do best in a quieter home as a lot of movement scares her. A fence would be required. If you have patience and love to give her time then you are a match!

Betty is making progress in her foster home led by the other house mates. While she's still very timid, but is beginning to trust the humans that care for her. One of Betty’s favorite spots is on top of the couch, where she can keep an eye on everything happening around her. Betty is learning leash walking. She is looking for a calm, patient family that understands trust is built over time and that will allow her to grow at her own pace. She will continue to thrive in a home with another friendly, confident small dog who can help show her the ropes and reassure her that the world isn't so scary. Because busy environments can be overwhelming, she would do best in a home without young children.

She loves to snuggle and will sleep in the bed with you or in a crate nearby. She would thrive in an environment with patient humans who understand and embrace her quirky self. She is great with older kids and other small dogs who match her sweet, playful energy. She does not like to be alone and would be happiest in a family where her person works from home.

Adopt Nancy
Adopt Nancy
Female Mini Poodle
1 year old, 10 pounds
Dog and cat friendly
Requires a securely fenced yard and another small dog in the home
Nancy is a 1-year-old Mini Poodle who has made tremendous progress in foster care. While she's still a timid girl, she's beginning to let her sweet personality shine through more each day. She has discovered that people can be safe, and she's learning to enjoy the little moments that come with being loved.
One of Nancy's favorite places is perched on the top of the couch, where she can keep an eye on everything happening around her. Once she's comfortable, she'll gently lean over to give little kisses on your hand. Nancy has also found her voice and is surprisingly chatty! She isn't afraid to let you know when she has something to say, adding plenty of personality to her quiet charm.
Nancy is looking for a calm, patient family that understands trust is built over time. She will continue to thrive in a home with another friendly, confident small dog who can help show her the ropes and reassure her that the world isn't so scary. A securely fenced yard is required, as she may still run if startled while she's building confidence. Because busy environments can be overwhelming, she would do best in a home without young children.
Nancy may never be the dog who rushes up to greet every stranger, but for the family willing to let her move at her own pace, she'll reward you with the sweetest hand kisses, adorable conversations, and the joy of watching a once-frightened little girl discover what it means to feel safe and loved.
She can be adopted with her sister Mary Mae or by herself

Fostered in Columbus
Mia is loyal and patient (just not when it comes to snacks). She is still learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard is desired. She is doing great with house training and has very few accidents. She would thrive in a quiet house with a low energy family. She is very laid back and gets along with other older dogs and kids. She cannot go up stairs, so she needs a single story home. She does have chronic dry eye and requires eye medicine twice a day. Mia loves her people and will follow you around like your shadow. She is the sweetest angel!!

Adopt Mildred
Must read ENTIRE BIO
Adopt Mildred- PLEASE READ WHOLE BIO before applying. There will be two interviews for Mildred. One to discuss her medical needs and one with her foster to learn about her!
🐾 Heart puppy - see information below
🐾 4 month old female English cream retriever
🐾 25lbs and growing
🐾 Fence not required
🐾 Great with kids and other dogs
🐾 Untested with cats
🐾 Would love a doggy sibling or at least frequent opportunities to play with other fully vaccinated dogs
Mildred, Millie, Millie-Moo, Moo-Moo, or Fluff Nugget! Mildred is the happiest puppy and unless you knew about her heart, you wouldn’t really know. She has your typical puppy energy and loves to play fetch, jump on her foster siblings, chew on sticks, and explore the yard! Her favorite nighttime activity is chasing and catching lightning bugs and June bugs. She is fostered in a home with 3 big dogs and she loves them all.
Mildred has a grade 3 heart murmur caused by mitral valve regurgitation (likely caused by underlying mitral valve dysplasia). Basically this means that the “flap” of her mitral valve was malformed at birth which allows some blood to back up into the left atrium (one of the four chambers of her heart). At this time, Mildred does not have any of the symptoms associated with this heart malformation, such as coughing, labored breathing, exercise intolerance, weakness with activity or poor appetite. However, it is there and should not be ignored! There is a slight chance she will grow out of it and her heart will function normally.
A repeat ECHO should be planned for when she is 6 months old to check the progress. There is also a chance that she may develop congestive heart failure due to changes to the heart structure over time caused by the backflow of blood into the left atrium. We have no way of knowing at this point what her future will look like but for now she is happy and playful and ready to steal your heart, and your socks! Many times these type of cases can live a long life and in some cases they are cut a few years short, it is not a surgical correction for this at this time.
Medication could be needed down the road if the condition causes enlargement or if she becomes symptomatic.
Mildred is not yet spayed due to her heart malformation and the risks of anesthesia. She will
Not be spayed prior to adoption and we suggest you strongly consider the risks and benefits when making that decision. For that reason we are searching for a responsible pet owner able to financially provide care for her.
Echos costs around $900 and medication when she needs it could be $50-100 a month.
If you are interested in giving her a loving home despite her uncertain future, please submit your application and the $20

Adopt Mary Mae
Adopt MaryMae
Female mini poodle
1 year old, 10 pounds
Other dog and cat friendly
Needs fence and another dog in home
Could be adopted with her sister Nancy but not required
MaryMae, our little Southern Belle, is as sweet as sugar and cute as can be. She is a 1-year-old Mini Poodle with a gentle heart who has made incredible progress since coming into foster care. While she's still a little timid in new situations, every day she becomes more confident and affectionate.
Once MaryMae trusts you, she is happiest right by your side. She loves curling up on the couch with her foster mom, follows her from room to room, and simply wants to be wherever her person is. Watching her personality emerge has been one of the greatest joys of fostering her.
MaryMae is looking for a calm, patient family that will continue helping her build confidence. She would thrive in a home with another friendly, small dog to show her the ropes and reassure her that the world isn't so scary. A secure fenced yard is required, as she may still run if startled while she's gaining confidence. Because loud or busy homes can be overwhelming, she would do best in a home without young children. She has not yet learned to walk confidently on a leash, so her new family should be prepared to continue working with her at her own pace.
MaryMae may not be the dog who runs up to greet every stranger, but once you've earned her trust, you'll have a loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to spend her days by your side. If you're looking for a gentle companion and are willing to let love grow at her pace, MaryMae will reward you with a bond that is truly special.
